Neroli comes from the blossoms of an orange tree and its aroma is warm, floral, and soothing.
Neroli oil is produced through steam distillation, and can be used in some soft drinks to add flavoring. It is speculated that could be included in the recipe for Coke.
Neroli is known for its calming aroma. Three human studies showed reduced pain and anxiety related to aromatherapy: one showed reduced menstrual pains, one showed reduced menopausal symptoms, and a third reduced anxiety. Additionally, in vitro and in vivo studies showed hepatoprotective, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and improved cognitive function related to neroli; more research is needed.
