With this Salty Hair Thickener Recipe, some sea salt in a spray bottle can help thicken the hair. Jojoba and aloe are also added to soften, and essential oils provide aromatic pleasure.
Salty Hair Thickener Recipe Ingredients
- 1 cup of distilled water
- 3 Tbsp of finely ground sea salt
- 1 tsp of aloe vera gel
- 1 tsp of jojoba oil
- 1/4 cup of strong vodka or everclear
- 12 drops of essential oils such as lavender, rosemary, mint, citrus, or cedarwood (see research listed below)
Salty Hair Thickener Recipe Instructions
Heat the salt and water in a saucepan until the salt dissolves. Separately, combine the alcohol, aloe, jojoba and essential oils. Mix all the ingredients together and pour into a spray bottle. Shake and spray to thicken the texture of hair. Include essential oils to make hair smell fabulous.
Some Essential Oil Blends to Try
- 4 drops of lavender
- 4 drops of peppermint
- 4 drops of rosemary
- 4 drops of cedarwood
- 2 drops of clary sage
- 2 drops of peppermint
- 2 drops of lime
- 2 drops of clove
- 3 drops of chamomile
- 3 drops of lavender
- 3 drops of neroli
- 3 drops of geranium
- 4 drops of lime
- 2 drops of grapefruit
- 2 drops of ginger
- 1 drop of ylang ylang
- 1 drop of vanilla
- 1 drop of patchouli
- 1 drop of clove
- Optional: Use coconut oil instead of jojoba oil in the recipe for a more tropical aroma.
